racetronix fuel pump

Hey Guy's, my boss gave me a racetronix fuel pump but wht out the hot wire kit... is it really necessary for it to work the proper way? Thanks.

It will work with the stock wiring

It will work without it but its wise to use the hotwire kit for the life of the fuel pump because it needs more voltage.

The pump is just a walbro and a billet housing, to really get the benefit you should get the hotwire kit for constant voltage under load.

Install it the right way. Get the harness. What else came with the pump?

The pump, filter and the harness that goes to the new pump. I did my research all am missing is the hot wire kit.... this is the problem, I installed the pump wht out the hot wire kit and am not getting my normal fuel pressure!! (42psi) am only getting 20psi. U thinking it's because I haven't installed the hot wire? Any ideas? Thanks

No, the pump will supply the proper pressure even without the harness.

Did you replace the fuel filter when you did the pump?

If not, then you may have to pull it back apart and make sure the line to the fuel pump is on fully and locked into place with the proper o-ring in it (or it will leak and bleed off pressure) and make sure that flexible line is also not kinked.

If you didn't do the filter, chance that first. If you still don't get proper pressure, then you have no choice but to pull it back apart.
