that's what you can run SAFELY as apposed to pushing the edge... such as the motor I am having made by quick95lt1... doesnt NEED 4 bolt mains... but it's a good precaution. no one likes to buy something and run what the mnf'r reccomends and it blows up... they are just saying what works safely to avoid people going way over the top pushing the limits and then in return blaming them for a poor product.

This is the reason why most manufactures don't give a hp rating for their pistons....

I'm running JE 181920 pistons with Scat 5.7 PN6570021 H beams. CR worked out somewhere in the mid 12s. Quench is .039. (0 deck with FP 1074 gaskets)

yup ..........lt1slows's motor will be able to laugh at a 150 shot and run strong and consistant for a long time......the extra few bucks is worth its weight in gold 2-3-5 years down the road........do it once, do it right, put your foot to the floor and worry about banging the next gear not your connecting rods lol

I hear ya, one thing we have to remember is the stock pistion ring lands are .250 down. Alot of forged pistions im seeing have them set at .180 to .200 down

In regardes to the XD Ultra rods Callies has introduced the retail is $1451 for a set if anyone is intrested. Me thats more than Im willing to spend and the rod design is overkill for my build. May look into some Lunati H beams or Callies H beams, really trying to stay away from Eagle, just my personal preference.

As far as HP ratings go I over look them. Theres so much more to consider than just HP, like piston weight and RPM
