Default LT1 engine build help

Hey guys i have a 94 Z26 M6..the car has 210K miles on it...what i want to do is get the LE2 Heads and 232/240 Cam from lloyd...Is it safe to run this top end on the block since it has 210K miles?? Im on a budget so i cant really build the bottom right now! maybe in about a year i can...Just looking for help and ideas about this..it is my daily and i will take it to the track about once or twice every other month....your help will be greatly appreciated..if you have any questions that you need to know just ask thanks!!

A cam of that size is going to want some pretty high RPMs to make power. If you do plan on running it, just be prepared (financially) IF the bottom end goes.

It would also help to do a compression/leakdown test. That will give you an idea of the health of the motor.

People have done heads/cam swap on higher mileage LT1s without a problem, but 210k is a LOT.

If you get a newer low mileage shortblock I would stick with the original plan with the LE heads/cam (but $850 is a bit high for a shortblock...I wouldn't pay any more than $450 or so). Don't F with the 306 - there are better options available nowadays.

but ill deff go with the LE heads/cam and keep searching for a newer lower mileage block if the guy doesnt want to drop under 850...will i still get good power with a stock 350 block with the heads and cam..also what # injectors do you suggest and should i upgrade my oil and fuel pump? also should i keep my pacesetter mids or go LT's??

you should carefully consider what parts are on the lt4 block--oil pan, front cover????

850 is a very cheap price for a stock low mile LT4 as there weren't very many made---plus has 4 bolt caps and most likely a nice set of numbers for someone restoring a 96 vett

I'm sure lots of guys on here will give you great answers, But go ahead and give Lloyd a call. He will also answer all these and other questions you have. Tell him what your goals are and he will lead you in thee right direction GL. He does recommend you change your fuel pump this is a great one http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.a...%2D003&eq=&Tp=
When i got my LE2 heads and cam he suggested I use 36-37 pound injectors

personally i think it would be a bit irresponsible as a builder to put a good heads and cam package on a 210k mile motor but then again thats me.....

I totally agree, I would put your money in every Bolt on possible if you haven't done so already, Put gears in the rear, and a new clutch, If your clutch is stock, that would probably go anyway with the LE setup. Work on the suspension. I had a customer with a "Bone Stock" Lt less converter, and a street tune but had every suspension work done, He ran 13.00 flat and this was his first outing at a track..
