What will I need to run a carbed 350 in my 95 TA
It looks like I dropped a valve in my 95 TA and I had a few questions.
Basically....this is a play car and not a DD. I can get a standard SBC motor from a friend for a song. It has sat awhile, but I know for a fact it has less than 500 miles on it. I through the idea around of putting it into my 95ta and going carb. This may not happen, but it is an option.
I haven't decides it I want to use the lt1 heads, but if I do I know I need a specific intake. My main concern lies in the distributor situation. If I do this I do not want to run a ECM at all. Since I have a t56, I assume I'm gtg in the transmission department. Only issue I can see might have to do with the reverse lock out.
I was also wondering if the LT1 accessory brackets would work.

You can use LT1 heads on a gen 1 SBC but they have to be converted. There are no water passages in the LT1 head to go to the intake. You would be better off just selling what ever you have and buying a set of worked Vortec heads or any other SBC head for that matter. You will also have to cut the cowl, You will have to run an Acc. bracket set up that accommodates a water pump as well.

if this is a budget project, just fix your LT1 or find another one to put back in the car. dont be like the local guy who put a sbc in his '94 corvette bracket racer.... decals all over, 29" slicks, 9" rear, 3/4 cam, double humps, open headers, and it runs 9.20's in the 1/8. piece of crap. it woulda run that stock on street tires.
