Default Are heads worth the money?

Really getting the itch for some more power lately, but im just not sure what to do. I know nitrous is always an option, but not sure I wanna mess with that because I want power that is always there. So that brings me to my question; are the LE2 heads worth the $1300? Am I going to notice much of a difference or is the cam I have now too small? Any input will be appreciated, Thanks.

I have: LE 226/232 .592/.592 110lsa (w/ 1.6rr's)

From Lloyd's Website

LT1 LE2 heads are capable of producing 370-380 RWHP with our small 218/224 custom cam and 410+ RWHP with our 232/240 custom cam.

LT1 LE2 heads consist of :

Manley 2.00/1.56 6000 series valves
Patriot Gold Extreme springs (155 lbs seat and 400 lbs open)
Steel retainers and locks
205 cc intake port
milling, cleaning and assembly
flow about 275/190 CFM
assembled and ready to bolt on!

$1300 for LT1 LE2 heads.

I would say there is an Easy 30-50 hp in that area as long as you have all the supporting mods. Your heads are choking that cam with high lift numbers, the heads would really take advantage of that.

Nitrous is by far the best bang for you buck. Keep in mind a complete Quality nitrous kit will cost around 900-1200.

I dont think you will be disapointed in the Heads. Plus the heads are only going to run you around $1050.00 You already have the springs, locks and retainers for your cam.

You may think $1000.00 is a lot for 40 horsepower, but this will be throughout the curve and feel like much more. Its something that will have to be done eventually. I would run the cheaper 5716 Mr. Gasket head gaskets with them.

I agree I think you'll get to 400rwhp with the LE cam you have. Now the cam I guess it depends on what you want out of the car and Lloyd would be the best person to ask. If it were me I'd keep the cam and tell Lloyd to build the heads around the cam to get the most HP out of the set up..

Heads are where all the power is made, shitty heads will only choke a motor, a good matched heads and cam package from LE will make good power and throw a good nos kit on it and now yur car is really flying.

Just curious, Im in the same boat...Looking to get a set of LE2's come tax return time i think.

This info might help OP too... Does anything need to be done to the fuel system? Im wondering if the LS6 vette injectors would work if bigger injectors are needed, those engines were what 405hp? 28lb injectors i think?

What HP are the stock injectors good to?

Just remember "your motor is just like your relationship,if you don't have good head it will never reach its full potential." save the cash get those heads to LE or AI plus one of their custom camshafts and see what happens!

YES. I run a set of LE2 heads and I'm very satisfied with the power. The cam looks good, imo.

I have the custom cam, bolt-on's, racetronix fuel pump kit, and CC stage 2 clutch. Do I need injectors also? I'm going to upgrade the lifters also, but not sure which ones to get. Also thinking about the impala head gaskets. $$$$

Rob94hawk, what is your set-up if you don't mind sharing?

On last question; What should I do about the intake? Port match? Who does that or can you buy them?

Thanks ahead!!

Almost everything I have is in my sig except for a few things. A set of 0.026 head gaskets. The cam has a little more duration than yours for intake and exhaust and the lift is a bit higher along with Patriot gold extreme springs.

It says on Lloyd's site that he will port the intake for $200.
