Planning for the next LTX shootout. What's with the LS1 PCM weight penalty?

- Heads must retain the factory 23 deg valve angle. Trick Flow 21 deg. heads permitted (PN TFS-30400008-M54).
- Must have stock-style suspension. 4-links and ladder bars not permitted.
- Independent rear suspension receives 200 lb. weight break.
- Must retain full OEM interior including both front seats. Aftermarket front seats permitted. Rear seats may be removed.
- Must retain OEM type transmissions of one of the following (700R4, 4L60, 4L60E, 4L80E, T56)
Its like the class was built around certain cars so some are in and some are out. Seems dumb but it doesn't really matter to my life.

No kidding. You should have seen the thread over at c28.com when a guy asked of Edelbrock heads were ok to use. It went from Edelbrock sucks to LE sucks all the way to getting flamed in my PM box. The way some of these guys whine you wonder if they actually have vaginas. Needles to say that thread got locked.

It usually only happens on this board. There are a few bad apples in here that constantly critique everyones builds and put down other peoples cars. Trust me when I say this......... the bad apples never show up to the shootout, lol. All of the friendly guys are at the shootout.

Give me an example of a car that this class is built around????????

The suspention components he listed are fashioned in the STYLE of their stock counter parts, only with stronger materials.
I'm pretty sure that's what his message is.

It means you have to run a torque arm suspension. You can run any tubular torque arm you want along with lower control arms, and a tubular panhard bar. No ladder bars, no 4-links. You have to run the style of suspension that your car came with.

I'm not following you at all here. This class is for the guy who has gone beyond simple bolt-ons but isn't quite a race car with license plates. This is for 355's, 383's, with decent heads, decent cams, and a few lightweight goodies along with good suspension. Tons of cars fit into this class. A mid 11 second car would do very well here, maybe cut the tree down and make it to the finals with a little luck.

The heads thing I guess is nit picking but saying only 23 degree heads but then allowing 21 seems silly. I guess its just the wording. The weight break for irs, is that for vettes? I didn't quite grasp that at first but didn't think of vettes untill now. My main gripe is why a 4l80e that never came in an lt1/4 production car is allowed yet a th400/350/glide etc are not? Between that and the other small things made it seem like the class was made to exclude certain cars but allow others. That was my point.
And why are all the internet tough guys mad?
