IMO you could have got a dud like a lot of us get but wasting even more cash on something thats just as if not worse for reliability is a no no! Pick up a new Delco from Summit and give it a shot. Thats what i would do if i was in your position. Shame if you could to wait till spring as ill have a nearly new 5k old delco opti and msd cap n rotor kit with maybe 2-3 k since i put the motor in. Im going to let all my stuff go up cheap once i get to pulling the motor apart for the EFI 24x swap come spring.
I've done an extensive search and have concluded that they ALL suck!

This one just happens to come with a warranty. What I'd really like to do is the EFI swap but that is just not in the cards right now.

what is OPTI abbreviated for? having the same problem with my truck.

Wow. Old thread. The OPTI is the Optispark distributor mounted on the front of the LT1 block. Hope that helps.

Not going to have anything to do with a truck (unless it is a transplant). No LT1s came in trucks.
