So bascially i can turn the cam dowel pin slot to either 1 or 6 on the opti and see where the pin just slides in? Sorry guys id rather be safe than sorry

Those are just reference marks. When the hub pointer is at 12 o'clock, it will be at 1 or 6 TDC. The dowel pin will be in the coinciding location. It is to help you put the opti in the right position before sliding it on. The whole thing is pretty much self-explanatory.

ok maybe im just stressing myself out, this is just a very important job and im not screwing it up with such an expensive part. Do i need a special tool to take the opti screws out to apply Loctite?

after you put the opti on, make sure it is completely flat against the timing cover BEFORE tightening the opti bolts. after you put the opti on, make sure it is completely flat against the timing cover BEFORE tightening the opti bolts.
notice i said that twice. It is VERY IMPORTANT!
after the opti bolts are tight, push on the opti harness connector. make sure it clicks into place. if it doesn't, figure out why. if you can't figure out why, the plug is most likely damaged. replace it with an opti harness pigtail and solder it in.

so i got the old distributor off, took the new opti cap off so i could make sure it goes into the dowel slot and my new opti doesnt slide in? I shouldnt have to force it right? am i missing anything here
