Mcleod clutch questions
Hey guy i am reading that the Mcleod street twin clutch is the best of the best when it comes to ability to hold lots of power and still stay streetable.
And i was looking on there website and searched through google and i can't seem to find any of the Mcleod clutch kits for the LT1 camaro. I want to get the Mcleod RST clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing. And i will be using a RAM flywheel.
Do they make them for the LT1?

I found a couple quickly by just searching on google, but they seem to all include the flywheel.
There's a guy on the for sale forums selling a street twin used 3k for $450 if I remember correctly. Not too bad if you are willing to go used.

Do you want a street twin or an RST? They are two different clutches. The street twin is made for an LT1 and comes with the flywheel (your choice of steel or aluminum). The RST twin comes without the flywheel and AFAIK, isn't available for LT1 style T56s.

Well i was Hopping for the RST clutch. they are both twin disk tho right?
But the problem is i don't need/can't use the flywheel because it won't be going on an Lt1 motor it will be going on a gen 1 400 sbc thats going in my 95 camaro.
And i have to use the ram flywheel thats made to go on a gen1 block and use the LT1 T56.

I think you are **** out of luck on the RST then. You need a "pull off" type cover for that LT1 T56.
They do make a street twin with a 2 piece rear main bolt pattern and a pull off cover, both internal and external balance versions. I'd give them a call and make sure what will work with your application then sell/return your RAM flywheel. Other option would be a single disc LT1 clutch with that RAM flywheel you have there.

From: windsor, ont. canada - Home of the fastest LT1 6spd.
take a minute and call Billy at McLeod. talk to them, what have you got to lose by finding out if it is offered.
wtf, why don't people just pick up the phone, lol!!!
I have to agree the street twin is the way to go if ur budget permits. I don't know nuff about the RST, sounds like a street twin less the flywheel? but like i said, i don't know fo' sure.

I have the Mcleod Twin Disk
What did you go with. I have a 01' Z-06 and the Mcleod clutch almost seems like to much clutch for the car. I have 477RWHP and it locks up so fast my wheels just spin. Interseted in your findings!!!!
