Default Lifters?

LE made a suggestion on running a 236/244 .608"/.608" 110 LSA cam behind my 357 LT1.
I currently have a set of LS7 lifters, will they work with that grind? I don't have a retaining plate or link bars yet. I'm kinda wondering if it's worth running a set of lifters that have the link bar built into the lifters?

The LS7's should be just fine. You'll need the "spider" and the "dog bones" to keep the lifter straight. The link bar lifters are more commonly used in non-roller blocks.

My ls7's were crap out of the box. No oil to the top end. Got some lunati link bars and can't be happier.

Not trying to go off topic of op's thread but what's with the dog bones? Or spider?
I got new ls7 lifters and a 226/232 cam.

dog bones connect the lifter bodies together on the flats in the side of the body to stop them from rotating in the bores.........dog bones pair them together and the spider is just a spring steel piece that holds the dogbones down on the bodies so they dont pop off .......

It's the stock retainer/plates in the lifter valley to help keep lifters in place.

They don't come stock with dog bones correct? Are they needed with every aftermarket cam?

They do come with dog bones and spider stock and are needed if using stock type lifters.

If you look at the link I posted from Summit it will show you what the dog bones and spider retainer plate look like. I just wanted to double check their isn't some better design than stock.

there is lol......the link bar lifters but you are going to dig deeper in your pocket for them vs the LS7's which are fine for your application.....

Ok, I had a blond moment, just reinstalled the stock dog bones and spider. I don't recall taking them out 2 years ago, but I found them next to the old lifters. This is my first build. Thanks again guys.

Hahahaha

Yeah, forgetting anything is cause for some bad things happening!!
It's easy especially with first builds to miss things... But definitely no excuse! Gotta triple check everything.
