Default Torque Arm Brackets on 9 Inch

Found a 9 inch here local and might be good to ****** up before I leave for the Air force and such or just solely to maybe resell it. With the Torque arm brackets do you just fab something up on the center section of the rear end or is there a kit for this??

Should be a picture of it here but he says it was in a 95 firebird I can't tell from the pics but it seems to have all the stuff my 10 bolt had and it looks upside down in the picture to me.

So anyone have experience with the torque arm with the 9 inches that weren't 100% manufactured for an F-Body if that is the case here

Currie makes a TA bracket kit for like $150 I believe. It doesn't look real strong, but who knows. I have never used it so I cannot say. I suppose you could always add more strength to the design if you wish.

Yeah I was told to look at some guys 8.8 builds to get ideas for it if I wanted to Fab it myself. We have a family friend who is a Wizard with a welder so maybe we will just let him attack the project for a few drinks lol

Fair enough! The Currie bracket is nice simply because it has everything you need for a basic setup. That way you just point and weld and then figure out a way to beef it up by adding supports where they apply. Good luck with the project and keep us updated man!

Oh If I use it the thing won't be in use for years lol I leave for basic in exactly 2 months but god knows that could be moved back like it has already two times before but I'll look into that bracket and go from there and who knows it can be gone by the time I get the time to go down there and pick it up was just an idea I was throwing around

You could replicate the moser bracket mount by welding 3 pipes on the housing, wouldnt be too hard. I imagine you could get them to sell you just their bracket that bolts to the housing.

I like the Moser one better. There was a thread not long ago in the gears/axle section where someone broke their currie mount.

eidt - this one

It's a shame Moser doesn't sell their old bracket. I was fortunate to get one with my 9" and it's a direct bolt-on. Thing is butch too - mounts to both the pinion support AND the differential housing. Pretty slick.

Not to hijack but do you have any pics or know where to find them of this bracket?

I used to have a picture of it, but I just can't seem to find it. Next time I'm under the car I'll snap a few pics.
