Default trans am front bumper?

I'm posting this in the lt1 section because it has to do with lt1 cars, so Mods don't move it.

Why do some of the lt1 birds have the bird on the nose? And some don't? Which ones got it? Which ones didn't?

I just bought a t/a nose and the bird on there is a little bit peeled off. I'm gonna remove it the rest of the way before painting. This may be part of the reason. It does not look like a, molded in the nose piece, it is an added on item. That may be why it so easily peels.

Mines still on and when I get the bumper repainted it will go back on. With a black and white theme it will look good.

I was referring to the molded in bird... But from what I gathered in the other thread, my bumper cover is not oem.

The bird is not molded in and can be removed.

The one I seen was molded in? Like an indentation of the bird in the bumper. I'm almost positive of it.

Thats what I was trying to explain. It is NOT part of the bumper.

Just like any molding, body colored and added on by an adhesive. There were only two specific nose covers, Trans Am and the Firebird, neither had any indentation for molding.

I've never seen one molded in either. The molding piece when put on properly does look like it's part of the bumper, but it's really not.

No my friend had a blue 95 identical to mine, he painted over it so i guess the paint sealed the gap, or my memory is failing (i haven't seen it in a year or so)

It looks molded but it's just a sticker!! When my bumper was replaced after my brother wrecked her back in 99' we had the body shop leave it off as it looks cleaner and is much easier to wax. I still have the new sticker from GM (NOS) in the file for my car.

Disregard the dirty car. Thats how I bought it. 6 years under a tarp. But here's my bird an yes it's a decal. I've looked all over to see if I can get a new one if I pull it off to paint the bumper and it tears.
