I for one am glad to see a well made knock off that also knocks off alot of the expense. I wish someone would make a stainless steel knock off of my favorite LT1 headers.....or heck while I'm wishing....a stainless steel knock off of my Hooker BBC engine swap headers for my 61. Those things are about $600 uncoated!!

I see no need to bash these. Idc if they are exact copies of another brand, they are doing it way cheaper and the looks arent bad either. id be more than happy to have a set of these. they may be a knock off but they def arent a cheap built knock off judging from the pics. who cares what name are on them as long as they do a good job at what they are supposed to do.. if little debbie started making afr clone heads for a fraction of the price, you can bet your *** id be rocking little debbie heads lol

alright guys heres my question. When these are back in stock, im looking at using a summit universal x pipe kit and run true duals with these headers. I can find 3 inch, so I plan on flairing the ends out and then use 3.5 walker band clamps to clamp the collector to the x pipe kit. It should work, or I think it will.

Second question do these come with O2 extentions or will the foward o2s line right up and not need anything to add to them?

This is what im looking at getting, along with the headers. http://www.summitracing.com/checkout/cart.aspx

I will start with just turn downs at the axel, if that is way to loud I will run the rest out at 2.5 out the back. Any input would be AWSOME!!!

To use the x-pipe kit you are going to have to come up with your own bend on the drivers side to get from the collector to the X. The drivers side on these headers is pointing toward the left of the car quite abit; the passenger side points straight back.

I would use this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCH-3035/ to adapt from the 3" pipe to 3.5", the 3" end is OD and the 3.5" is ID. Will have to weld the 3" end to your x pipe and the 3.5" end will slip over the collectors.

I got my obx headers from racingpartsdepot on ebay and love them they fit great.I didnt have to beat or dent them to fit in like other people say they had to do. But the more you take off the car the easyer it will be . I did have to unbolt the motor mount on the drivers side and lift the motor a little then they went right in. I would also install a solid motor mount on drivers side because when the motor torques over they will hit the floor

How much increase is possible with these OBX headers with a cut out... replacing the stock Manifolds, stock Y and full exhaust? Set up is fairly mild....218/224 Baby cam, LE1 ported heads, 1.6RR, ported TB, gutted cat, all emissions stuff removed, Madtuner tune and a Vortech pushing only 6lbs boost. Is 20Hp increase realistic?

I would think that 20rwhp would be easily attainable

I just installed the passenger side header, took literally about 5 minutes. With the front wheels on rhino ramps and the rears on the ground I slid it in from underneath. I also had the engine mounts loose and engine jacked up.

So basically these things fit awesome and I couldnt be happier with them.

I made this arguement years ago with the LPP headers. Except I said if Kotex made knock off AFR heads, everyone here would be rocking the Kotex heads.

I'm all for American made stuff but when its $700 dollars MORE for the same thing its a little rediculous. Maybe Kooks should rethink their pricing scheme.

Nope, hopefully they are back in stock somewhere. Maybe give me something to do this summer, replace my rustastic pacesetters.

Pricing is retarded. Lets face it, there are people running 10's and faster on Chinese turbos, and stainless headers coming out exactly the same at 1/3rd the cost? I think companies need to be honest on how much profit is really made in some of the overpriced products.
