This conversion only requires the use of a single 96-97 OBDII style knock to use with the conversion to make it work.

Does the LT1 block not have 2 knock sensors, 1 for the driver side and 1 for the passenger side or am I mistaken? How does the conversion make use of only 1 sensor? Thanks for any clarification.

The later 96-97 years I believe came with two kncok sensors but with the kit it only needs one to make it work with this swap. Why I can't explain that.

The number of knock sensors is set in the calibration file. Many LS PCM equipped vehicles used two knock sensors. Some LS PCM equipped vehicles used only one knock sensor. It's simply a calibration setting.

The F-Body LT1 uses only one knock sensor (due to clearance issues). The B-Body (and Y-Body?) LT1 uses two knock sensors.

Do you have to call in for the DIY harness kit? I don't see it on the website. Just hoping for some cash here so I can start buying the 24x.

upper right hand corner click search, in key word just type DIY it will come up. They don't make it really easy to find. Id assume because they dont offer any support for the DIY kit and they would like to promote selling their new harness

No problem. I repinned my harness, its not up and going yet but eventually I do plan on having them make me a new harness. It would be nice to just have a new quality piece to replace my old ancient factory one.

Default About damn time

After 6 grueling months or patiently waiting and aggravation. My camaro finally made it out onto the streets under its own power! The picture isnt the best but its all i had.

I drove it less then a half a mile. To get gas and make sure that everything works before putting it back away. This weekend if i have time ill try to get it to a GM dealer to zero out the crank position angle. It felt so weird being inside of her again! (no pun intended) these past 6 months have felt like years! There are afew things that need to be ironed out. But so far so good. She really needs a good drive to get all the **** out of her system. That will all be in due time. Does anyone like my freshly painted wagon wheels? lol

Congrats on getting it out and enjoying it again! Did you notice any better driveability with the 24x on your short run? Whens that 8.8 going in?

I noticed that it Really needs the crank position angle to get fine tuned! lmao the cars still running better then how it did with the opti! Which is still alittle crappy. The rear end goes in after the crank position gets done and after the ecu gets sent out for final adjustments. definitely in May
