why is it that LT1 corvettes sound so much better then LT1 camaros? I mean i know its a completely different exhaust setup, but what is it besides the X-pipe that makes corvettes sound so unique. And another newb question with some cutting on the trunk area would it be possible to run C4-5-6 mufflers in the back? Never seen it done but would think it would be cool.

c4 mufflers shouldnt be a problem. c5 and c6 would.
You can get the same sound by run nearly straight back pipes. no turns besides headers and to mufflers.
A C4 with a corsa exhaust always makes me grin. I am going with spintech mufflers on my next exhaust setup to see how I like the different sound.

i always figured since fbodies are more chocked up than vettes, fbodies wouldnt sound as good as vettes either. Other than that, i never really consider vettes to sound that much better than camaros or birds

What rims are those? Very nice. I also love the Z06 exhaust, when u step on it, it has some kind of a vacuum baffle inside that goes straight pipe. GOD it sounds AWESOME!!!!!

Yea but it also sounds like a big bag of **** when they are closed. Biggest let down to me so far is a C6 z06. I got to drive one, granted it wasnt far and i never really got on it, but it said nothing to me of build quality. Maybe all that goes away when you put the loud pedal down and your sideways, but free revving it....there are alot of stock cars that sound better until those valves open up.
I get the idea behind it, dont get me wrong. However i dont want to drive a 505hp beast around with my foot to the floor for it to sound good, I dont think my lisence or my wallet would like it.
As far as OP, basically what these people are saying. It does suck that you can do a muffler delete on a C4 and it sounds awesome though

I've always thought the LT1 Vettes never sounded all that great. All the ones I've heard that had exhaust work always sounded kinda raspy. Here's a short video clip of how my car sounds:

Check out the Dynomax VT mufflers, its the same concept just mechanical instead of electric. I have one on my car and absolutely love it.

Nice sounds good, but do you have to turn the car off everytime you go through taco bell drive through?

Also, when idling through an indoor parking lot I would set off multiple car alarms

i think with the new vettes its having the mufflers right out back that makes them sound like that........my LS2 GTO has the same style exhaust and IMO it sounds JUST like a newer C5/C6 vette......
