How to install a 93 chip

How to install a 93 chip I have a 93 z28 and was thinking about ordering a chip for it, but i do not want to get my self in over my head. Can anyone give me a run down of how to do it or maybe some pics of how to? Any help is appreciated it. Need a little more out of the ol LT to beat my buddies stang.

Unbolt the computer (2 bolts), remove chip cover(one or two screws, i forget how many), then unclip the old chip and reinstall the new one. Computer never has to be unplugged from the car.
It literally takes 5 minutes, I had to do it a million times tweaking the tune on my 93 since I was too cheap to get the emulator for real time tuning.
Make sure you order a chip custom tuned for your mods from a reputable vendor, not just a generic premade "Power Chip".
If you want to be able to make small adjustments like disable emisisons flags or change your idle rpm, or even get into tuning yourself, Moates makes a kit that replaces the ancient UV PROM with a programmable EEPROM and a USB chip burner.

Like Puck said, it is about 5 minutes worth of work. You only need a basic 1/4 drive metric socket set. Once you have the computer open, the PROM pops out via two thumb releases. GM designed it to be serviceable by the average grease monkey.

Solomon sends you a new chip that you just install in place of the stock chip. check out his site lt1pcmtuning.com and tell me what you guys think. I would just be doing his postal power tune.

He also has the ostrich which requires no chip burning straight tuning on the fly. I picked this route but I believe I will need a adapter as well .
