wanting carbed intake, send heads out for modificaiton?
I need a carbed intake manifold, talked to Wilson Manifold out of Florida. They want me to send heads to modify bolt holes on heads to fit super victor jr. intake manifold with 23 degree heads. So when done, factory lt1 intake manifold will not fit anymore. My question, is this proper way to get carbed intake manifold to work. All suggestions welcome (:

wilson manifolds as in the people kenny duetwelier and other pros get thier custom made sheetmetal manifolds from? id say your in good hands with them. and yes once you go to the small block chevy bolt hole layout, your lt1 intake wont fit anymore.

intake manifold
Yes, I am talking to Wilson Manifold. I am not really worried about oe lt1 manifold going back on. I have Trick Flow 23 degree heads. I dont mind shipping the heads to them, and then they will line up carbed intake to the heads and do their modifications. just wanted feedback, thank you for your replies.

There is nothing wrong with converting your heads to SBC intake bolt pattern, as long as you are satisfied with your current heads and want to keep them. It opens up your intake options a lot, so you can change up as you upgrade.
After the machining, you can run any of the TONS of standard SBC intakes floating around like a Vic JR or SuperVic, which you can ****** up for crazy cheap from sites like racingjunk.

The reason I asked what heads was because if you had stock heads and could be going on to aftermarket later it might have been worth looking at ordering the heads with the SBC pattern. Since you have heads to stick with though then converting the pattern on them is a reasonable solution.
