choosing between le2 ported lt4 heads or afr 210 heads. Will be a boosted setup and want to know how many guys would choose lt4 heads over afr. I know that there are guys who have gone in the 8s on lt4 heads. But what would the big guys do in this situation?
THe car will also see about 8200rpm as well and still be fuel injected. Its a 24x conversion.
thanks

I would be more immediately concerened with your valvetrain if you plan to spin 8200 though...shaftmounts, ti parts, lightweight valves, badass valve springs - a few $K just in the valvetrain to keep everything stable at that RPM, especially if your lobes are aggressive.
You will need a BIG head to support that kind of RPMs.

11 of the top fastest 15 LT1 cars run AFR's. There is a reason for that.
For your goals I would definately go with AFR's. Thicker deck, better casting, great flow #'s, and they are proven to perform. As stated, spend the money on a good valve train for that type of RPM's.
Now I will sit back and wait for the AFR bashers to post up.

I dont know what the big guys do. but ive had my car 10 yrs and all the guys running the fastest times/breaking records use AFR. Ive been on the boards prolly 8 of those yrs, the bigboys use AFR.
sure there are a few who dont, but the majority all do. Id go for the 210, 220, 215RR setups.

Looking to make 800hp+ with an F1A/F1R and keep RPM under 7k on a street/strip car.

If money is not a problem I would get a set of converted 18* heads.

well they are ported a bit more and are closer to 215s. But if thats the case and wont spin much higher than 7k RPm then I mine as well just sell the AFRS and use the lt4s for now. They will flow closer to 300cfm and go to 7k rpm with ease. Then use the $ from the AFRs and pick up some 227s!!!!
Sounds about right?

well like I said right now they are ported to fit 1206 intake gaskets and so is the intake. So I will start at 6800 rpm and go from there with the power output. I just couldnt figure out I was just gonna use the lt4s for now and sell the afrs then buy 227s later.
