As far as I know I think you can just use any thing that will seal if it's an LT1 since you don't need a special device to run the oil pump and plug the hole. Just fab something up to plug it, seal it with RTV and make a hold down clamp to put some tension on it. I don't know of anything made for the LT1 but there is this. not sure if it will work or not in an LT1

Mallory makes one with out the drive, you could wack the bottom part off. Im sure it would be cheaper to use a freeze plug either way the mallory unit is 25 bucks

Hmmm. Thats pretty cool and I think it would fit since you can use any SBC distributor if you ditch the opti. Plus it would eliminate the possibility of breaking the plastic gear drive we use now.

Just remember that the Mallory is for Dry sump systems so you would have to chop the bottom of as said above and reuse the LT1 oil pump drive.

Thanks for the offer that is pretty cool of you! I ordered the Mallory one I posted with the drive and a Jegs billet hold down. Figure just eliminate the plastic junk. Herron makes a billet LT1 drive but I wouldnt save any money and this way I hit two birds with one stone.

I'm sure someone with enough experience can mod something up, but I don't really see the point though. The 24x setup would be easier to reach since it wont be under the cowl, and will cause you less pain of all the trial and error...plus you would still need the crank signal to run coil on plug anyway.

If you dont care about that, then you might as well just get a vortec dizzy and run the 411 single coil Express Van setup.
