Is there a sensor that helps regulate the engine idle when the A/C is off and on? My car idles high when A/C off, but seems normal when A/C on, sometimes the idles sputters too low when A/C on but normally better on

The computer adjusts idle according to when the a/c compressor is on. Check all basic stuff like hoses and connections, etc. Doesn't sound like your idle problem is related to the a/c.
