Well I was going to use PCMforless but now I am going to use MadZ28. Too much iffiness with PCMforless reviews but you guys seem to love ion and his tunes so I guess the choir has spoken.

The icing on the cake was when he had the perfect opportunity to make extra cash from me and he flat out said its not worth it, save the cash...... Again I am not saying no other tuner would do the same however for roughly 14 tunes for.friends and customers ALL had positive resolution.

Years ago I had bought mail order tunes from both Ion and Bryan just to see what the difference was. My Impala had the heads and HC setup. Plus, Ion had to fix my PCM cause I locked it up trying to de-tune the hyperjunk from it. Both were within a tenth on the track and 2hp on the dyno. Ion's was a bit richer at idle.

This was 10 years ago and I can only imagine how much better he is now. He will be doing my tune for the 383 in a month or so. I'll send him my old hotcam tune and have him tweek it. It took me a week of self tuning the trans to get my shift points down since both of them didn't tune them. It would shift from 1st to 4th within 20mph. Not good with a 3200 stall. So I tuned in my own part throttle and WOT shift points with Tunercats. I'm not going through that again.

I bought a car that the previous owner had Ion tune and when I went for a update he only charged me $50 for a update even though I was not the original purchaser of the tune, he could have charged me $150. He's a stand up guy and does a great job, my car runs great. I can't recommend him strongly enough.

I talked to him in person about this and he said he stopped advertising this service because of liability with the EPA but that he can do it.

I will use him he is good deal, and always good reviews I hear. If the check engine light is on from deleting emissions and stuff, dont you lose about 25% or a bit more of your power, since the check engine light is on and it is in "limp mode" ? thats what I have heard.

Another +1 for madz28.

I'm still using his tune in my heads/cam 383 - it is a little rich like others have said, but better safe than sorry. I haven't dyno tuned it yet because I'm waiting for my supercharger. Oh and he tuned ALL the emissions caca out on my 95 (ODB1) and 97 (OBD2). AIR, EGR, EVAP, etc all gone.
