LT1 Header swap ???'s
What hidden parts do i need to do a long tube header swap on my 97 Z? I've got the LT headers, y pipe, dummy o2 sensors and exhaust already. Is there anything else?

A saw-all is your friend if your taking off all the factory exhaust and emission tubing. I can't imagine if i couldn't have cut all that.

Just bought an EGR block off kit with 3 plates. EGR Block Off
And i forget what size but a small box of different vacuum caps for your intake, they'll be 2 if i remember right, exposed to cover with them.

i just did my 95 Formula last year. Is your full system complete in the sense that your sure it will fit together without fab? I put SW headers/Y with a B&B muffler/tips... and I needed to get in intermediate pipe made up- along with buying big band clamps. Had to get the SW flanges welded so that they would seal properly on the head. Also bought some heat reflective tape for wires that I thought were too close. Good time to do motor mounts too. I ended up buying header bolts that had the smallest 'head' possible so I could get wrenches and sockets on. I used REMFLEX gaskets... they have lots of crush available for uneven surfaces of flange. Also I left my AIR pump and tubing in place for future consideration (lame I know), but needed to cap the tubes.
Oh, and you may need to modify or replace the oil dipstick. I cut mine and spliced it with some rubber hose and clamps... it wouldn't fit around the headers.

Whats up guys. Sorry to thread hijack. Im doing the samething. Got pacesetters and y pipe. I went to buy fel pro gaskets. But they dont seem to line up correctly. They line up perfect with stock exhaust. But on header the gasket dosnt have holes for the two outter ones on header. Also is there a local store like oriellys or something that will carry header . Bolts I need.

So got the car running. Ive been having issues with the fans coming onsince before header install. I snapped the sensor on the driver side head witch I believe is a temp sensor.. Correct? I put a new one. Witch appears to be the same as the temp sensor I swapped underneath the waterpump. Are they suppose to be identical? After I swapped the one on the head I noticed my temp guage goes to the max even tho car is cold. Sometimes it will work normal butthe fans still dont kick on. Any insights?

I second the jacking the motor up (did that for the passenger side). I personally removed one side at a time then replaced it with the header right away. I am actually using the stock paper gaskets :O...Other ones wouldn't fit however. Also using the bolts provided (tried the grade 8 bolts locking kind).
