But then the stock heads would choke the cam. Yea the GM847 is a bit much for a stock head but guys are running them. Usually see the CC503 though.

Yes I realize I can run my stock heads on a cam but i lose power like crazy, so i either get them machined or I just buy new heads. I know the things I have to change and all I just don't know which parts I need, like sizes and all that go with the cc503. I read part of the sticky on what parts i will need.

Alright real quick since you guy are smart, and I do not want to make another thread, does your oil pressure gauge bounce around a lot, Mine goes stays up when cold but when its warms up, every time I hit the gas it goes up and then when I stop it goes to zero and then the check gauge light comes on and it shuts off every time i hit gas, weird I know. Its hard to explain it on here.

That would be your oil pickup tube has falled off. Common problem. Next time you change your oil look in the hole and it will probably be sitting in the bottom of the pan.

You should fix it ASAP. Anytime the pickup for the oil pump is not submerged in oil your bearings are no longer receiving oil - not a good thing.

He is incorrect.

What you are describing is usually a dropped pickup.

The pick up falling off is why i got my car cheap! Holes in the oil pan from a spun rod bearing from lack of oil. 0 psi is the absolute worst thing for an engine. As for a cam stay away from the gm 847, and cc306. CC503, or a custom grind from AI or LE would be the best. Tell them what bolt ons you have and your driving style and they will make the right choice for you. Also any cam can be ran on a stock headed engine. With any cam change its REQUIRED to change the valve springs to the reccomended for the camshaft.

Hm, well considering to remove a cam you must remove rocker arms, then the push rods, and pull the lifters. None of those parts are the heads. They are the valvetrain.
