Default Meziere electric water pump. No gasket

I had a CSR electric pump on the car and it died. I'm replacing it with a meziere pump. On the CSR there is a slot for the O ring there is not on the meziere. My question is the gasket from the factory is only a O ring. Do I have to make a gasket? Thanks Jim

Your question is confusing. There should be an o-ring or gasket between the pump and the pump housing. Either purchase an o-ring to fit or make a gasket.

if your old gasket from the CSR won't work, just get a stock WP "O" ring gasket for the meziere. It uses the stock one

I'm not sure what failed on the CSR electric pump but it stopped working after 4 years. The problem with using just the O ring is there is no where for it to sit/seat in the new meziere pump unlike the CSR. It sounds like I will be making a gasket which is not a problem. I was wondering how other people mounted there meziere pump and what type of gasket did you use?

Just an FYI to all using the Meziere pumps, mine after sometime quit working, I was going to trash it then I decided to do some trouble shooting. I pulled it off, hot wired it to the battery and started messing with the wires going into the pump and it started working, upon further investigation, I guess they draw a few amps and the wires were getting burnt. Spliced new ones in and it still lives. A friend of mine had the same problem and when I told him what I did, he did the same and his pump started working also....So before you trash those pumps, check the wiring...

I just used RTV (ultra grey I think) on my Meziere and haven't had one drop come out.

Here's the part number for the o-ring if you need it...

The right stuff works great until you need to take it apart.
