Default Fuel pump (trap door) lines back on - how do you do it?

Gah I am so frustrated here. I cut the L shaped trap door and I CANNOT get the fuel lines back on (in particular the feed? lines).

What do you use? Two screwdrivers? Pliers? Fingers? Moreover what is your method? Return lines on first or not? Pump bolted down in the tank or not? I swear I've never been so frustrated by such a relatively simple job. Most of the time I can barely even get the "easy" feed line lined up and still can't get it on.

There's no correct method on that. You basically fight it till you win and there's blood everywhere. I had even less room to work with than you coupe guys, so I used several pairs of long needle nose pliers and had to figure out the right order so they would all fit without interference.

I was able to use just my fingers to get the lines back on. What I think helped the most was to loosen both tank straps - You don't need to take the nut off because there is a lot of extra thread on the bolts. This allowed the tank to drop just enough so I could manipulate the lines. (Also, the hole I cut was a rectangle, not 'L' shaped.) I didn't bolt down the pump until all the lines were reattached. I can't recall which line went on first, but once I got it on, I was able to pull gently on the line which moved the others a little closer for better access.
