A cold air intake will throw off the tune a tiny bit. So you changed the ECTS in the water pump, not the head? If I recall correctly the ECTS in the water pump controls the gauge and the one in the head is what the PCM uses. It must be in working order as fuel curves use the coolant temperature to dictate fuel. Cold engines need more fuel as fuel doesn't atomize well in cold temps.

Running rich can cause detonation, which is where I believe your knock is coming from. As I said you are pulling way rich, idle is way off.

If I recall that one just runs the gauge and the one in the driver side head is what the PCM uses.

I wouldn't change out anything else until you have the PCM looked at or swapped out.

You could have already spent to much money to not have it solved.

Haha thats why I said if I recall correctly. I have it backwards. The one in the driverside head controls the gauge.

Its possible that you broke the wire to the knock sensor doing plugs and wires since its a pain to do those rear 2 spark plugs on the passenger side

Have you looked over the EGR system beyond playing with the solenoid?
Just seems like the sort of rpm range that it would activate.

First off, if you are saying that your tach is bouncing around, then that is one of the symptoms of an Opti, 550 idle rpm, Yup, I have seen this on stock cars,

just looked at ur data log............ltft's are going rich......think its caused by the misfire.....misfire doesn't burn oxygen so it makes the O2s read a false lean so its trying to compinsate for an issue that isnt there........the misfire can also trigger the knock retard......im with moe on the opti on this one.......if it was a true maf failure it wouldn't be in CL fueling....

The MAF code is due to not being hooked up. He the car hooked it back up. He needs to clear the PCM and take a new log

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yes the MAF code was due to me running it with MAF unplugged.....I had no change in power with MAF plugged in or unplugged...If knock sensor is unplugged or wire broke, wouldnt it set a code? Fuel pump OK 35 at idle and 42 at WOT....Waiting to get laptop back will make another run.....Thanks again for the help...

Agree, 550 is stock on some calibrations for an auto.. whoever said it can't be is misinformed.

I would start with a stock tune just to be sure.

And definitely pull the cat off...

When i changed out my cia , I broke 1 of the three little wires that goes to the maf connector , just under the black tape. car ran like dogshit until I found it and soldered it up. Now its fine, simpleest first.
