What did you do with the line that runs from the fuel pump to the canister by the fill tube?

I stuck a filter in it and am using that as my vent.

I took that piece out. The 17 year old rubber / plastic was shot.

There are four lines going into the top of the fuel pump, they are: fuel out, fuel return, EVAP and vent.

The factory vent only allows expanding air to escape from the tank, not enter.

If you removed the EVAP system, unless you capped off where that line went into the fuel pump assembly it is now your vent, but it could suck crap into your fuel tank in theory.

I would recommend putting a new rubber line on that connector at the fuel pump with a filter on the other end up out of the way somewhere.

Hm. Ok. I did some research and I'll do that.
