NO time to work on the car yet.

My plan of attack:

1) compression test see if anything is cooked
2) if pass, swap 02's left/right
3) check fuel pressure and fuel regulator
4) change/check fuel filter
5) new plugs and datamaster log again

I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for the help!

First two cylinders 175-180 PSI!
Had to stop to put the kids to bed. I will do the rest of the cylinders and report back.
If they are all good I'm going to church

Ok "normal" according to datamaster side (drivers side) front to rear:
175 175 160 175
Other side "lean" according to the damaster, with 10mv O2 readings, and the side with the super fowled plugs:
175 175 160 160

Is that ok? I'm good to go no reason to tear down? The 160's were really hard plugs to get at, and I know I didn't have those two as tight as I could have screwing the tester in.

I'm googling now to see what OK numbers are. I hope that's all good.

Also checked his logs and he keeps having code 12 no distributer reference pulse pop up throughout the log file. Im guessing a bad icm is whats causing the misfires and lean/rich conditions?

In my experience when an ICM module goes it just goes, it's a solid state peice so when hot it may act up, but it will either work or not.

What else would cause a code 12 which refers to the icm signal?

I found this link here
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...o-z28-lt1.html

Maybe code 12 is nothing?

I'm going to ignore DTC 12 for now and see about a new o2 sensor and fuel pressure.

It's a 1994

In my bigass service manual Book 2/2 Driveablility and Emissions it shows every DTC on a page with troubleshooting diagram. DTC 12 does not exist. DTC 11 is "Malfunction Indicator Lamp" and DTC 13 is "Bank 1 (left) heated oxygen sensor" and there is no DTC 12! ?

Edit: The first book 1 of 2 starts at DTC 14, nothing before. ?

Well he isnt getting any out of the ordinary dtc codes just lean and rich which we are aware of. My best bet is to change out the o2s in hope that helps with those issues as they are moving around slowly and not flucuating faster as they should.

Update:

Shop had the wrong plugs in, tapered and too short, and too cold. I put in Autolite 3924's which are correct length and heat range for the AFR heads.

MSD wires are all good and all tested OK.

Ordered two new o2 sensors from rockauto.com (the Desno's)

Orered hypertech fuel pressure tester

Changing the oil and putting wix filter,
changing fuel filter.

Stock intake and TB coming from a nice guy here to fix my issue that I have a custom monoblade and hogged out intake.

I will post again when it's all together!

Thank you everyone!

Jason

I couldn't help it
Intake is off!
It was sealing great around all ports, and no oil leaks front or back.

I am swapping a monoblade intake/TB for a stock one to get my idle circuit back. Here are some pics, any opinions on the dirty ports in the heads on the last pic?

Pretty clean ports in this pic...

Pretty grungy! ... Where is this grunge from is what I want to know - valve stems/seals or rings? These two below are the rear cylinders 6 & 8 which did pass compression test just over 160PSI:

More pics:

I under stand they were the wrong plugs BUT a good idea here would be to take the plugs and lay them next to each port for the cylinder they came out of also use an flash light or drop light to light the ports and label what cylinder they are. You can turn the cameras flash off and it may show the inside better with a flash light. Takes a little time but this thread is 2 pages now and going back and forth from the first page to the second is just a pain in the *** even with two tabs when you look at this because you mix up what was where lol. Bottom pick looks nasty but I cant see inside to look at the valve stem or the valve.

Great idea! I'll give this a shot I still have the old plug in order. I'll try and take pics with a real camera (no phone) with the plugs beside each port in the sunlight.

Update - got a stock intake and Tb on, now just need to change the o2's.
I can't break them free so I need to get a torch to heat them up.
After o2's I will go for another drive and datalog.

Done so far:
1) new plugs, check all wires, reinstall with dielectric grease
2) put on a stock intake manifold, stock tb
3) plugged and capped and inspected all vacuum lines/ports
4) installed fuel pressure gauge
5) looked under valve covers, lash is set right

To do: change o2 sensors, tune out EGR, and test again.

Everytihng's done!
Fresh oil, fresh fuel filter.
All I need to fire it is the IAC installed in the TB. I don't have the two bolts for the IAC anyone know what size they are? I'm going to the store in a bit.

Here is the old O2 and harness. Oops. Meltage!
