Default Newbie with a good start, i think

Hey guys, i have a 95 lt1 six speed camaro, it has a 383 stroker kit cheap headers and intake. Nice exhaust and a stage three clutch. Full ignition and a hotcams lt4 cam.Think its not right or i just want much more from it, where do i go next . I have super comp headers to, put on it, want to put an air fuel gauge and do some tuning. Im new to these motors and dont know where to start. Underdrive pullys? Roller rockers? Bottle feed : )? Any help would be great.

That's a pretty damn small cam for a 383. Are the heads stock?

If you have a 383 with an LT4 hotcam then chances are you already have roller rockers.

At this point I think it's safe to say you should scrap just about everything you have and start over since everything done at this point is just awful.

Wat crank rods and pistons is in it. Ramair is sayin that its just a **** poor setup. Not doing ur setup. Just dont know why som1 would build a stroker and use the hotcam. That cam is tiny for a stock motor. Im gona say the heads are stock. Plus the crank is a cast steel. Which the stock crank is better. If thats all true. You will come out better. To sell the motor and start all over.

Hes saying because it has a hot cam in it, which is a extremely bad choice for a 383. Its not even a good choice for the stock engine.

So if he put a hotcam in it, who knows what internals are in it. He could of replaced it with a cast crank which is weaker than the stock crank.

The best thing to do would be tear the engine out and open it up and see what has been done to it. Most likely you will have to pull the crank/rods/pistons and replace them. Have to send the heads out to be worked, or buy new heads, since as stated they are probably stock which is choking the engine of air.

So you built the engine?

Eagle forged pistons but what about rods and crank?

What heads are on the block?

That's just his standard answer, he does have some of the best posts though. Just drive it for a while, hang out on the forum and learn, there is a ton of good info on here (and some not so good).

Do you know what heads on it are? Because if you dyno it and its got untouched heads it will seriously under perform my guess with the cam would be around 350rwhp.

Remember adding cubes without allowing more air in out nets you nothing.
