Default Efi connections question

I have heard that some may need to have their hubs machined for the 24x kit to work. I recently purchased an ATI super damper and hub. I'm curious to know if and how much needs to be machined off the hub for everything to work.

It shouldnt be much if anything... most users that i know that have done the kit havent had any issues but they have stock hub and balancers. Im either going to machine my ati hub down or mill it down to fit going from a 95 to a 97 timing cover.

93-95 cars had the long hub (no reluctor) 96,97 have the short hub (with reluctor) so if you r car isn't a 96,97 then you need to either get a new hub or machine your old one. If you don't machine your old hub your serpentine belt will be off the width of the reluctor (aprox 1/4"), jegs sells a new hub #555-51609 i run it on my car best part is its double keyed to the crank also there is a pin that you drill a hole for in your stock pulley so once its on its not going anywhere.

EDIT: just noticed you have the super damper, i would just have it machined then you could probly have it done for less than $20 or maybe just buy the machinist lunch

I just have to figure out the exact amount that needs to be machines. It's a super damper for a '94.

so has anyone had their ATI hub machined at all for the EFI kit? If so, how much exactly? I'd really like to figure it out while I have everything at the engine builders.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the ATI hub included a spacer that is the thickness of the crank reluctor wheel. For applications that use a crank reluctor (4x GM or 24x EFI) the spacer is not used and for applications that do not use a crank reluctor the spacer is required.

I know the Fluidampr includes the spacer for sure but I'm not sure about the ATI unit.

My Ati that i got used is the same as am_muscle it doesnt come with a spacer its made for 93-95s. My hub im pretty sure is fubar'd but im going to try and see if i can machine mine down hopefully it cures the humming sound its starting to make. If not im going to have to order up a new hub that is either 96-97 only or comes with the reluctor spacer to work on both. Hope to have mine started on Monday.

http://www.atiracing.com/products/da...s/damchevy.htm

if you scroll down to the F-body chart, it includes the information on the LT1/LT4 it also states that a washer is included and needed for LT1 hubs. It also shows that a spacer is provided but I believe all I received was a washer.

I also ordered this product from Lonnies Performance and if you look on his site, it implies that the balancer and hub will fit a 93-97 Camaro and is not 93-95 specific. If this implication is correct then S10Wildside should be right in saying that everything I have should line up correctly as I was not provided a spacer and it is not needed with the 24x kit.

my ati is from a 95 as well and its too long to work on my 96/24x setup. Ill be taking it to a local machine shop. When I removed it there was not a washer or spacer on the other car.

When I bought my ATI balancer many, many years ago, this was exactly the case. Dunno about now, but I'd be surprised if they changed that.

My ATI came with a spacer. I'm not running it because I have a reluctor. I will see if I can find it and see how thick it is.

My ATI came with the spacer, call them and ask for the thickness.

The 4x GM reluctor and 24x EFI Connection reluctor measure 2.55mm (or 0.100") in thickness. This is the amount of material that must be removed from a 92-95 GM LT1 hub or pre-1996 SBC balancer.
