yea I thought about it to. I cant make my mind up if I want to mess with this lt1 or swap for lsx . Its like a toss up you know. I already have a lt1 so could just build from there. Or buy ls motor trans all that probley be happier with lsx but more money time and work to have it .

I would run it on stock springs. You'll need to wind it to about 7k though.

XFI 292 would be even better

I have the 503 with ported heads. It's becoming almost the standard street build cam for LT1s.

LOVE it. "OMG its old tech bla bla bla" So what?

You will need the supporting mods/hardware to REALLY take advantage of it but its been known to make some HP's.

I'm lookin at doin this same cam. Sounds awesome at idle. Now I'm seein the 3600 is recommended for stall. What's wrong with the 2500? I'm lookin for a list as well. Do to I'm not tryin to keep pullin the damn thing out for every mod I do. I know my list is Cam, lifters, springs, gaskets, headers, cat. I'm lookin at porting my manifold, and jumping to the 52mm TB. I got a hook up on a ram air cold air. (real one). I mean aside from the obvious fluids. Is there anything I'm missing? In time I plan to do more. But this is still my daily. Oh and of corse tuning.

I don't know. I never dynoed it and haven't taken it to the track yet. Hopefully that will happen this summer. Pulls well on the open road. Most people get 330-350rwp with the 503 and a very flat torque curve.

If I was to do it again I would go with the newer XFI cams designed for fuel injected cars. Lots of lope and power throughout the range.

Lots of graphs around of 503 and 847 setups. Like nascarnate326 says, 847 is a little older tech.
