Pulling my T-56, need quick advice
Hey guys, I started pulling my T-56 tonight to do my clutch swap and I got everything out of the way and all the bolts out of the case (i'm pulling the case from the bellhousing) and I can't get it to budge, am I doing it wrong??
Whats methods are you guys doing to pull it?

Did you get the 6 bolts even the ones on the very top by the breather?
I just did mine last weekend and we just took the whole tranny out with the housing then for re instal we just did the bell housing then put the tranny to the bell housing

I think I got em all, i have 6 bolts laying on the floor anyway haha. I'm just wondering if it's easier to pull the trans as one whole unit instead of leaving the bellhousing.

Mines a 95 so I wouldn't think your case is different than mine for bolt patterns.. Make sure it's all jaked up and jiggle wiggle pull if you have every out of the way.
But taking the unit out as a whole wasn't too difficult.

Is this on the bellhousing? or the center piece between the case and the bellhousing?

I'm pulling the case from the bellhousing first, and yeah I only pulled 6 bolts so I must have missed 2 of them, so that would explain my problem hahaha. I should be able to get it now. Thanks for the help!

There are 8 tranny-to-bellhousing bolts and 6 bellhousing-to-block bolts. Doesn't matter if the car is a 95 or 97, same bolt pattern for all.
As shbox already stated, pull the clutch fork or you won't get the tranny out. You won't be able to pull it all the way out, just an inch or two till it feels loose and its not engaged over the throwout bearing anymore.

Just like shbox said, I've run into that as well. Make sure the trans is in neutral and pull the clutch fork out. It should slide out from that point. Taking it out is easy, but getting it back in usually involves a fight.
