Default new gear install question!!
Hey guys im putting in some 373's this week .Do i need to do anything with the ecm ? Its got the 323 stock set in it now with the A4 tranny.

If thats it no big deal ,i was worried about the shift points being all outa wack.

The shift points will b messed up. U will probly hit limiter at wot shifts

If it has a 4L60 E the shift points will be WAAAAY off.

I dont think anyone around me tunes lt1,s that could be a problem!

Bryan Herter at PCM for less and ther are a few others here as well, their names escape me. If you have a laptop and are willing to learn to do it the software and cable will be right around 100 $.

Aww OBD 2, I converted mine to OBD1 for just the reason of the price of the software and the availability...lol. I'm not the one to ask about OBD 2. Maybe someone else here can point you to a good tuner software or a handheld that can do what you want.

Convert to OBD1 all you need to do is swap the PCM.

Depends I got one off a guy for 50 plus shipping. A lot of people charge like 100.

I thought it was just the knock module which is in the PCM?

I know the knock sensor is a different ohm range though on the OBD2.

Would have to look into it.

Knock module is the same (other than the LT4 KM). Knock sensors are different. Either the sensor can be changed or the correct resistor can be soldered into the PCM.

I would do it the correct way and just change out the sensor IMO.

there is no reason to spend the $$ and time going to an OBDI all he did was put gears in the car lol.......just find a tuner to do the OBDII.......OP where are you located?
