What does everyone think about using these? I haven't been able to find too much about them, but how about some personal experience. I'm putting my motor back together and I'm thinking about putting some in for added insurance.

Every gm engine rebuild or new engine has them installed before it leaves the dealership

A tight cooling system should not need anything extra. MHO.

I heard this too many years ago. I believe it's crushed walnut shells?

GM used them for a long while and was a "miracle cure" for the northstar's head gasket/coolant issues.

I've used them before, work pretty good, but if you use too much your coolant will look like mud. (more so than just one or two being in there)

GM claims the walnut shells clean parts. Kind of like media blasting as they often used walnut shells on more delicate work. As well as it is claimed to plug up minor leaks (and it does).

All depends on your preference if you want to use them or not, but don't think a band aid will stop a gunshot wound from bleeding.
