You can get everything you need for a cam swap from AI and a guy laid down 373rwhp with a Lid Conversion, Electric Water Pump, headers, true dual exhaust with a M6.

Stay away from 160 thermostat. 97s can't run that cold. Have to get the 180 for the 97

My 97 ws6 runs strong at 160.A must first mod ,for 30 bucks or less and 15min .Maybe tie it in with fan switch mod later [shbox or slp].

The blocks are the same the cooling system is the same. Only thing that changed was OBD2 switch over in 1996.

I don't know were your getting your information from, but I would NOT take there advice.

My car has a 160 degree T-Stat and runs great.
