drag radials
drag radials I have an extra set of Z06 Corvette rims 18 by 9.5, and was wondering what the opinion was about drag radials on that size rim? Is it worth it or should I be looking for a smaller rim?

I usually look on craigslist for used drag radials to save money and every time I look I see tons of 18" DRs that would fit for cheap. thats just me though and I live in Houston.
If your wanting to know if its too tall of a tire for the track someone else would have to chime in.

it depends what you want to use it for. if it is for best track results a 15inch or 16inch wheel would be better. if it is just for street driving and the occasional trip to the track an 18inch drag radial will work alright.
I got some 18" vette wheels on my 97 on the back, even with drag radials they don't hook for ****. I can't wait to get some 16" aluminum drag wheels, however your best bet would be Nitto 555r's for that size, especially if you will be doing a lot of street driving on them.
If it were me I wouldn't bother with DRs at all on an 18" wheel. Just put a good street tire on there for now and if you're interested in hooking at all go to a 15" wheel.
Thanks for all the replies gentlemen, it’s just that I had an extra set of rims and wanted to put them to some good use. The set that I have only the fronts will fit on the back of the Camaro (18 by 9.5 Fronts and 19 by 12 rears) so the plan was to use the front 18 by 9.5 with drag radials and just let the rears sit in the garage. Thanks again hopefully I will figure something to do with the rims. And again thanks for all the replies.
