Default Code 63

I've noticed over the past few days my air/fuel gauge has been showing and extreme rich condition. No codes were present...however today my light came on with a code 63 present..."bank 2 right heated oxygen sensor, open circuit" 2 questions...would this cause my a/f ratio to go retarded, and is this a failed sensor or wire? Thanks

Check the connections on the wires. If there's some corrosion in there, clean it up and see if it checks out. But in all probability, it's a bum sensor. Bad O2 Sensor or connections to the sensor means the computer isn't getting correct feedback so it starts running rich to avoid going too lean and detonating the engine.

Thanks a ton for the answer. My A/F gauge is full rich until I let off, then it goes to mid 13s. Now, bank 2 right is the one on the passenger side coming off the header?

Yes, Bank 2 is the passenger side. Lucky us on OBD1, we only have the pre-cat sensors. If your A/F is at 13, that sounds about right for the stock tune. I dunno how rich it gets at WOT. Is the gauge for both sides or after the merge or do you have separate gauges for the sensors?

Its not a stock tune, before last week everything was as it should be as far as what the gauge was reading. My wideband is right after the Y pipe. I am however going to be making an appointment for dynotune in the next couple weeks.

If everything was running good before you started throwing the code, check the connections then the sensor. Those should put you back to being right as rain on your a/f mix.
