Default Shootout Tow Vehicles

What are you guys using to tow your cars to the shootout? Its a long drive through the mountains for us on the east coast, and Im just curious what you guys use. This is what Im possibly going to use if I dont buy something more heavy duty.

As long as that 'Hoe is well maintained, it will do just fine. Your F-body should be lighter than that Grady White
I've towed my Impala through the mountains to MD/NJ lots of times with my '98 1/2 ton 2WD Chevy.

Its got a 14 bolt semi floater rear with 3.73 gears and 33" tires, spent the first 90k of its life with my dads Grady behind it, before my brother got it and put the lift and tires on it. Its got 150k on it now and my brother just lets it sit since he got his TA, so Im confiscating it. Religiously maintained with synthetic fluids everywhere since it was bought new, everything original except the rear. Boat weighs around 4500lbs with the trailer, so my car on a trailer with tools will be about 1000lbs more.

I thought I saw a few other people use half tons for this trip, lets see some pics!

I cant seem to find the picture of my pickup towing that boat, I was going to use it last year but couldnt get last minute things together, then sold the truck last fall. Both the Hoe and this truck were TBI 350s though not the Vortecs like you have bowtienut

Thanks man... I always figure if it breaks... I can get a tow to a u-haul or of the like and rent what I need... But I have faith in her... and before the top end build and cam.. she made 25mpg, with 4.10s and boost...

This is from last years shootout. This was my friends steel deck trailer that I borrowed. It was almost 1800lbs. My trailer has wood on the bottom and weighs 1129lbs. I can tow and get around 16mpg if I'm careful.

Can't make it this year, but I will take a chance to post up my tow pig

95 Cummins ext cab, long bed, 5 speed, cut fuel plate, 4" turbo back, cranked governor springs, bunch of stuff blocked off, 37#s of boost, and a hell of a lot of fun for a 6500# pig

BTW the Moto Metals are gone and it has a set of '03 2500 wheels on it now, headlights have been change to some black housings, hi/low 4300k HIDs have been added, grille has been plasti dipped, cab lights are smoked, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something
