Default Jet tuning problem..

So i tried to pull the tune off my car its a 96 btw.. it failed the first few times, but then I got it to download & unlocked the vin..

Well it says its a LM4 5.3l and its a 96... and im really confused, Now it won't read the ECM again.. When i try and scan it with autotap it says it can't find the VIN..

Sounds like a communication problem either between the Jet box and PCM or between your laptop and the Jet box. Are you using a USB to serial adapter? I know some people have had issues with those.

as far as I know, my friend said something like if its a 96 it should save as .bin and 97 should save as a .jsl? well my tune saved as a .jsl..

This computer was tuned before by a jet cable 2 years ago, on a different cable now though.
