Good the hear. It should be a cheap rebuild this time. Check out Northern Autoparts. Their rebuild kits are extremely cheap but use all good parts.

I used a high volume pump in a 93 Z28 I built and it sucked the pan dry. I had always heard that but didn't believe it. At the top of second gear it would loose oil pressure everytime. Replaced it with a stock style pump and never had anymore problems.

Did you put LT1 pistons or SBC pistons in it when you rebuilt it? The reason I ask is IIRC the LT1 pistons use a different ring set, I "think" they are metric. I ran into this when I built an engine for a friend of mine last year with a 95Z. He went with the SBC pistons because they were cheaper.

I had a junk yard engine that when I tore it down for very low oil pressure to find .030 pistons. I used those along with a sealed power set of .030 premium rings off rock auto. May order new stock .030 pistons. Everything in that junk yard lt1 was crap. In the end I had a $750 of scrap metal. Everything except the intake, heads is going to be tossed in the trash. I used an oem gm pump. I have nice oil pressure across the board. Tho I pulled the t tops to find a very bad amount of rust. Guess water has been sitting in there. Looks deep and is right at the windsheild. That may have to come out to fix this. Everytime I fix something I find something else major wrong.

I used a Melling High volume pump and use the higher pressure spring. I get 40 psi when the motor is warm. It gets about 30 psi at idle.
