Default Open or Closed Loop?

Just finished building and breaking in the new engine. It's a 381 forged stroker, TFS heads, and a LE cam 242/248, 58x lift on a 110 LSA.
I have done minimal tuning so far and the cam surge in closed loop sucks. Question is; Is the cam too big to run in closed loop? I dont' want to waste a million hours tuning just to find out open loop is the way to go instead of closed loop.

That cam is not big at all, need more tuning or check to see how the O2's are reacting in CL

Yeah, I have only done an intial tune of where I think it should run, O2's are new and appear to be working fine when logging data.

LT counts I assume? Are you asking for a particular cell?

No, all the cells in general, if the cells are white then it could be something else, if the cells are red or white then the IFR might need to be adjusted for CL.

I was looking at the log and it's not long enough to be a good indicator. Anyway cell 7 is the worst, green 150's, the rest that did show up showed blms to be pretty close. I will have to do some good logging this weekend along with some idle tuning. But you think it can be tuned for closed loop?

Hooker LT's, matching ORY, no cat, 3in pipe back to Borla 40474 muffler, and a cutout right before axle.

Closed loop for the street. Open loop for the strip.

That is, of course, if you tune your car for maximum performance for the strip and tune it like a carb.

My last setup I did all my WOT tuning at the track and picked up a good 2-3 tenths over the mail order tune.

Of course, The only cars I tune open loop are motors with huge solid roller cams, sheet metal intakes and even some of those are still CL. Your setup is mild and not radical enough to have to run in OL..

I'm glad to hear that. I'm diving in head first this weekend. Thanks moe
