Default long crank time on 95 Hawk

Car, 20k mile 95 6spd Hawk, garage queen.
Ok, car has been having this problem for quite awhile now.
It cranks a loong time before starting sometimes it takes 2-3 times to fire up.
fuel PSI checks ok
changed fuel pump with a racetronix kit anyway.
Does this car have fuel pump wiring like a 3rdgen? if the relay goes bad the oil PSI switch closes and kicks the pump?
We are getting PSI when we just kick the key forward tho.
What else do I need to check?

If thecar sits for a long period of time the fuel pressure regulator could be gummed up, fuel filter could be clogged.

when was the last time the plugs were changed?

By fuel pressure checks ok, does that mean it's holding fuel pressure with engine off?

Possibly ICM issue? When mine started acting up, it would not start after several tries then start up no problem like nothing ever happened. Does it drive normal once started?

Drives normal once started, new plugs. It does get driven but its had this problem since almost new.
I have a good ICM I may just try.
Fuel PSI doesn't hold very long but comes right up when the key is turned. That hasnt ever been a problem on any other car I have. fuel psi drops off but cranks right up when ya hit the key. Would be nice to hold PSI buuut...
Thanx guys

If it's not holding pressure then it's leaking back down either through the pressure regulator or at the pump. Sometimes when a pump is replaced the clamps become slightly loose or weren't tightened quite enough and after a while it will allow pressure to bleed back. The only other thing for fuel related no start would be the pump relay. You can try swapping it out with another one to rule that out.

I had the same problem recently, turned out to be no spark during the first five secs of cranking. Once you seen spark the car would start running. My problem was the harness to the optispark had a loose terminal. Fixed it and been fine since.

Yup, seen it many times, like I mentioned in an earlier post especially after a new pump replacement.

It was doing all this with the old/still new ,in my book, pump.
I will check everything posted here when we get it out again.
Thanks for all the ideas and I'll update this post when we nail the problem.
I wouldn't have anyone cut a trap door ! Not hard 2 drop the tank at all esp on the lift.

drop the tank. dont want to risk cutting your tank. plus dropping it was a breeze. had it out in under 2 hrs by myself with a quarter tank of gas.

Sounds like a psi regulator problem to me,pull vacuum hose off regulator and see if there is any fuel in hose.If so the diaphragm has failed, sometimes you have to let it idle for a few seconds with hose off and see if it leaks out reg.
