Default Alright, prove this guy wrong.

I strolled acorss Ebay and found this 1993 Z28 which this guy claims has a factory LT4. Upon my comments that the LT4 wasn't produced until 1996 (and never came in an Fbody platform), he decided I didn't know what I was talking about.

Alright,
Go to your chevy dealership, ask an experienced salesperson if they made a
factory LT4 engine for some 1993-1997 camaros. As a chevy salesperson, i believe
i should know this buddy.

Here's the item:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayISAPI.dll...tem=2471132662
And his e-mail:
ShayneStuff@aol.com

He's misinforming some unsuspecting bidders, so give him hell.

I hate that ****. He even has a pic of his LT1 there. Guess what? No powdercoated red manifold.

I sent him an email. I also sent a message to the high bidder and told him it wasn't an LT4.

anyone paying 4g for a 93 camaro with 144,000 on it and a knock deserves not to know imo. the 8th digit of the vin is a P so its just an lt1, unless it was picked by gm as the only 93 camaro to get an engine from the future and be sold to an unsuspecting buyer....

Anybody else notice how shitty of shape that car is in? The frontend has obviously had a collision and been replaced, and the dash is cracked wide open. Not to mention the hood is unpainted....

Yeah, that makes me mad. Since he didn't listen to me, I thought a bunch of e-mails from a bunch of people would fix his wagon. Sounds like that Chevy salesperson didn't know his ****.

well, i can only speak for my dealership, but the majority of sales people don't know a damn thing where i work. one guy tells the customers the 4l60E doesnt need service for 100,000 miles (and we all know the majority of them dont last that long even when they are serviced). dumb **** like that.

I thought a limited number of 97s came with the Lt4 engine. They definetly didn't come in a 93 though, those engines were still batch fire.

Here is the email I sent over to him.

Shayne,

I noticed you posted that you have a 93 Camaro with a stock LT4. That is incorrect and should be changed. We are LS1, LT1 and LT4 specialists and know that is infact untrue. Just wanted to let you know that before it causes you problems.

Here's the email I sent to Shayne:

Hey you dumb peice of ****, what are you trying to pull?
You don't know ****, you dumb mother f**ker, for being a Chevy salesperson. Your lying out of your *** goddamnit, now admit it to that dumb SOB who bought that overpriced hunk-of-junk of yours. I hope you die a horrible death under the tiretracks of the bewildered owner of that car once he finds out he is driving an LT1 powered Camaro. Thanks for your time.

JK just thought that would be funny to see his reply to that.

Well, he's obviously pulled a fast one. Problem is the world is full of suckers. That car is ROUGH. The thing that concerned me most about it was the crack in the dash. Combine that with the obvious bodywork on the front, and you're talking big impact.

Don't argue with idiots . . . they just try to bring you down to their level.

All MT 1996 vettes had LT4's , all AT 1996 vettes had LT1's, a very few F-bods got a LT4 from SLP in 1997. They were also available as crate engines.

Straight from LT4.com

"Chevy and SLP agreed to produce 100 1997 LT4 SSs, all white with hugger orange stripes, celebrating the Camaro's 30th birthday (the original white/hugger orange stripe Camaro was actually a 1969 model, but it looked cool, so who cares!). The LT4 SSs sold like hotcakes, with rumor that some dealers were selling them for upwards of $60k (the MSRP was right at $40k).

With the success of the LT4 SSs, and with some LT4s still in inventory, GM and SLP agreed to produce another 100 1997 LT4 Firehawks. Unfortunately, by the time word got out and orders began coming in, and with production deadlines at Pontiac, only 29 were ultimately built (with one prototype also in existence)."

Yes the guy is full of crap no 1993 stock LT4 Z28. Show him LT4.com maybe it will change his mind probably not though.

There were no 1996 Covettes with LT4 and an automatic transmission from the factory.

im gonna have to disagree, i had one that used come in that was a factory lt4/automatic, i say "was" because the guy bought the car, took it home and it got towed in 4 days later, it seriously looked like someone stole it and was doing neutral drops and bouncing it off curbs.he blew up the trans, and the rear. the guy just turned out to be completely insane and had alot of money, the car got stolen a week after he got it back from us.

I can dig out the RPO codes for 1996 vettes and all the factory numbers for that year if you like, but I'm just going to go back to my earlier statement "that I don't argue with idiots because they just try to bring you down to thier level".

He could be telling the truth to an extent. The motor could be an LT4 bottom end, meaning 4 bolt mains and LT4 spec cam with HD timing chain, which all came stock with the LT4's, but using a set of LT1 heads and LT1 intake.

He or the previous owner could have needed to have the bottom end rebuilt and gotten a deal on an LT4 bottom end and just put that in there with his stock heads and intake.

Somethin' to think about!
