Default Do i already have an aftermarket cam?

So just pulled the cam out of my 97 z28 to put a 503 in. As I was pulling everything apart I noticed it looked like all gaskets were replaced (mainly timing cover gasket that concerned me) and the timing gears are not worn at all. Got me thinking that there could already be an aftermarket cam in my car. Well, I pulled it out and sure enough there is a lobe where the mechanical fuel pump lobe would be. I looked for numbers on the cam and only thing I found on the back face was "bc 705" and between lobes on the front 1/4 of the cam just a single stamped "D". Anyone happen to know what cam this is? I know stock lt1 cams didn't have a lobe where a fuel pump would be, correct me if I'm wrong?

Don't know about the numbers but I know the LT4 Hotcam has a lobe for the mechanical fuel pump.

Well I say lobe, but it's more just like a raised ring. Same width as all the other lobes, there's just no lobe to it

That's it. Did you happen to run the car at the track the way it was? A F-body with a cam and supporting mods will run about 110 mph or so.

Ok now I'm worried my vette has ran 108 with just long tubes x-pipe welded to wear the resonator was. a cut up stock air box basically cold air intake throttle body blade and by pass and Pcmforless mail order tune with a very soft launch I have beat many cars that run 112 in the 1/4 from rolls soups would one check a cam while it's still in the car

Nope, never been to the track. When I bought the car, the guy was selling it for his son who was in jail and he didn't know much about it. I asked about mods and he said "headers, transmission and rear end work" I asked about internal engine work and he said "I don't know" well in all it has TB, CAI, headers, 2800 stall, 3.73 gears, and exhaust. The car runs good but with this being my first one, I didn't know how it should be running with a stock cam and how it would run with an aftermarket. As far as sound goes, I haven't heard many other non cammed that sound like mine, but I assumed it was because it has no cats. Idle sounds just like a normal exhaust not choppy even the slightest bit like you would expect from a cam. So I really don't know, I'm suspecting it's a lt4 hot cam, and nothing bigger than a 503 ,because granted i do have a stall, which is on the smaller side,.I never had any problems with the car surging at stop lights or anything.
