since no body has pic's.. I do, LS7 lifter vs LT1 lifter
Turns out i had a lifter failure.. no matter what i did to adjust it, it was never enough.. so i couldnt find any stock LT1 GM lifters and didnt want to risk buying aftermarket, i decided to go with LS7 GM lifters part# 17122490
Here is a comparisson photo of some of the differences
1st thing i noticed that the LT1 lifters at the roller end are bevelled upwards. Possibly to allow clearance for larger cam lobe angles??
New LS7 lifter
side by side comparisson with LS7 on top, LT1 below
Cup comparisson, i didnt measure the depth, but inperson you can clearly see the LS7 cup is shallower and the LT1 cup is deeper.. not by much though
just posting this since no one has posted pics.. at least not that ive seen..

my experience with "some" aftermarket pieces have been subpar. I just wanted something i know would work and fit, and was OEM.. i dont want to have to tear into the engine again, plus i got these for $99.. so if aftermarket is more or the same price..im choosing these.

I personally can't see any measurable difference in the pushrod cup. Can you take some real measurements instead of eyeballing them? Is the stock LT1 lifter "pumped up" (the plunger at the top of its travel)?
I know I went from OEM to LS7s and didn't have to change PR length either.

They should be good for well over what most street cams would call for. Was it just that lifter or multiple? How did the lobes on the cam look?
Just curious is all...I have the newer style Endure X pressure fed lifters for my SR and they will also be under a "little much" seat pressure and I'm not worried at all .

Up till the auto manufacturers started using roller lifters to reduce friction hot rodders used them because they could follow radical cam profiles with high spring loads that would ruin a flat tappet or mushroom lifter. Roller lifters are less tolerant of valve float though.

Would be nice if we could put together something like this and put in the valvetrain sticky. I dont know a ton about lifters, but this is what Ive dug up in my searches. If anyone has info to add, please do. Also, please do your own research before making any purchases to verify my information.
