Default How to clean roller rockers?

My used rockers are a little dusty and need cleaning before going on the motor, I dont have a "parts washer" I have a sink, should I just run them under the sink and then soak them in oil?

I wouldn't use water. Soaking in mineral spirits would be better.

I second the gas.

Go find an antifreeze or washer fluid jug, or hell, even a 1 gal milk jug and cut the top off. Go pillage some gas from somewhere, and plop them in there. If they're nasty sludgy let 'em sit overnight. The gas will eat off most all the sludge and carbon.. Blow 'em off with compressed air or just let 'em sit out in the sun for a bit on clean cardboard and oil them up.

Don't forget to not smoke while doing this. lol.

Once I had just dropped (literally) a gas tank and had covered a good bit of myself and the surrounding floor with gasoline when the semi-hot receptionist broad came into the shop on her smoke break. She walks right up to me with a lit cigarette while I'm yelling at her to go away! "Don't come over here, there's gas." "What?" (walks closer) "GO AWAY! There's GAS all OVER!!" "I don't understand...." (walks even closer) "YOU HAVE A LIT ******* CIGARETTE!!! I"M COVERED IN GAS!!!" "EEK!!! sorrysorrysorry..." (scuttles away)

Let them soak in mineral spirits. Dry them out and then soak them in oil.
