My original and AC-Delco replacement switch had only one possible place to insert the cable. Looks like yours does too (it's the round hole that your cable looks to be in that pic). It takes a bit of umph to get it to snap in.

Yeah, it was the ignition switch alright.

Reading this I didn't fully understand how it started. Today I put a new tranny in and had never had the problem before and now my key won't turn. It's like when the steering wheel binds but no matter what you do, it still won't turn. After trying and trying it will finally turn and does fine like nothing was ever wrong. Does anyone know anything about this??!!
