Is it possible that the cam was either retarded or advanced when it was installed? Did you degree the cam?

Or push it off a cliff. Tranny slipping? Weight reduction always helps. Change to a 3.73 gear. Who did the heads and what was done to them? You are running a cam and pistons set up for nitrous but you don't want to spray it?

Get it on a dyno and see what it does. You are losing a half second some where.

I'd say you bought something you don't actually have.

It is a LOT worse than half a second. Sure high 11s is common for a heads/cam f-body but that is just because people spend money on the wrong things and then "save" money where it would have really made a difference.

IMO the car is a full second off what it should do if the heads and cam were good not even great. It shouldn't need a single point of weight reduction to run 11s with heads and cam much less the 355 bottomend which should hold some additional small advantages.

Not to jump on but all these folks are right, something is up with your motor or else you were at 9000 ft DA. Last spring I trapped 108 hotcam and stock 1.5 rockers, stock heads,120k engine. Maybe there's something to the thought you have something other than what the receipts indicate.

You don't have the mph even with a drag radial which helps MPH vs a bias tire.

IMO there has to be a mechanical problem, large tuning problem, or the heads are just ****.

Sometimes things can be hard to find. A friend did heads and cam and was 100hp shy of where it should have been, no miss you could feel or anything BUT swapping back to the original ICM instead of the new one he put on with the head swap gave him all the power the car was missing. I don't know how it was possible for the ICM to cause a massive power loss like that without any "miss" we could feel, the car just felt like a bolton car.

So you need to be persistent in looking for a mechanical/electrical issue and sometimes known functional used parts are better than new.

That said people hear "ported heads" and think it means something specific, it doesn't it can mean anything from ruined and good for nothing but a paperweight to awesome and will outperform aftermarket heads or anything in between.

How much timing is it seeing?
The guy I know who had the ICM issue also had Herter crack a piston on him with a WOT AFR over 14:1 and up around 40degrees of WOT timing. PCMforless sometimes gets a car right but I wouldn't call it the rule.

guppumech says he is in PA

Telling him his car is **** or junk wont help him fix it. I'd bet most of you had problems dialing in your rides. I know I have..... Grow up.
