Im actually glad they named it zl1. If the z28 comes back, it should be a lightweight track oriented car. Kinda like the mustang's boss 302. Badass car, but not the top dog.

^^^yes and no. The 1LE should be the ultimate light weight track car, where the z28 should be what the current 1LE is going to be.

That's kind of how it started in the first place. The original Z28 wasn't that great in a straight line as it was a high 14, low 15 second 1/4 miler. It was made to go around corners.

COPO cars were the top performers of the day. SS cars could be ordered to do that but you had to option it right or it basically was a cosmetic package.
