Default 2014 lt1/4

So us LT guys should read this. Makes me wonder if this LT1/4 section of LS1tech is going to be renovated?! Seems like the Gen V V8 is going to be named after our engines?! I can wait to tell my non LT1 buddies in 2014 that I have an LT1 in my Camaro.

I agree just like the ZL1. The ZL1 is supposed to be top of the model Camaro. Now GM insider is talking about the new Z28. Dont know if itll be faster then the ZL1.

LMAO! That's exactly what I thought only I wasn't as harsh about it.

I went on LTXtech on facebook and said the idea was "stupid" and popo got all hell bent about it. You guys should go there and post what you posted here.

Until GM releases it I would take it as a rumor with a grain of salt.

I dont see how it will be confusing. When someone says they have a 350 in a 97 camaro or a 350 in a 69 camaro do you get confused?

the car companies do this crap all the time. So I dont see the big deal with it.

Because not many people are rocking the old lt1 but when this motor comes out you will have to explain I have the 90's lt1. It's not a BIG deal but it should have its own name. Hell I've had people come to buy lt1 parts (even when I post pics and dates) I show up and say that dosnt look like my lt1, looking for sbc parts.

If this is true it's just another step in the evolutionary process of these platforms becoming extinct. LT-1/LT1... hello???

Same confusion happened when the Ls6 and Ls7 came out brought many of us back to the 1970 Ls6 454 Chevelle.
It seems to me that GM likes to rename the NEW engines that proved themselves from the past......

So when you walk up to people you go I have an lt1? or do You go I have a 94 camaro with an lt1?

People that get confused will probably be the same people that get confused when they go to change their own oil.

Did anyone think of this as an LS based motor with LT reverse flow cooling ? Makes sense to rename it because of that.

It's not really a HUGE deal but I do think it's annoying that GM can't just make a new name for them. I think enough time has passed for the old folks to know there is a difference between an LT-1 and an LT1 but it's still annoying when you have to explain it.
